Trinidad and Tobago has a proud tradition and history of sporting excellence and passion. The twin Island Republic has produced 18 Olympic medal winners, two Olympic Champions, several Pan Am, CAC and Commonwealth Champions and a Youth Olympic Champion.

The Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee (TTOC) in its 70 years has been the conduit that allows talented Trinbagonian sports men and women to participate in the Olympic Games and acheive their Olympic dreams.

July 24th 2016 is the 40th Anniversary of Hasely Crawford's historic Montreal Olympic Gold Medal, The TTOC is focused relentlessly on achieving the vision of 10 or more Olympic Champions by the year 2024.

That vision will be impossible without two fundamental pillars, 1) a systematic long Term Athlete Development programme (LTAD) that is athlete centred, coach driven, sport science informed and technology enabled and 2) a sustainable dedicated revenue stream that is market driven. In the face of turbulent economic times we must remain realistic and pragmatic.

With respect to the LTAD, the TTOC will undertake in collaboration with the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees ( CANOC ) and Olympic Solidarity a LTAD pilot project building on previous LTAD workshops hosted by the TTOC in 2005 and 2008.

With regard to Revenue Generation the TTOC will follow up on the inaugural TTOC Sport Sponsorship workshop held in March 2010. At that time the stated intention was to evolve the workshop/seminar into a full blown Annual Sport Business/Marketing/Business Development Conference.

The TTOC will use the proposed Sport Marketing and Business of Sport Conference to engage the public, media, business and advertising sectors in education and awareness in respect of dos and don’ts as it relates to the Olympic intellectual property and image rights. This will include the following:

· The process and procedures to use Olympic rights
· Measures the TTOC will undertake to protect itself and the IOC from ambush marketing.

The TTOC is serious about contributing to the development of a sustainable sport business sector in Trinidad and Tobago.
Accordingly the TTOC intends to be a catalyst and key contributor to the development of sport marketing and the business of sport in Trinidad and Tobago.

The national Olympic committee's confidence received a timely boost recently when the TTOC was invited by the IOC to present its marketing and brand transformation plan at an IOC Marketing Seminar.

The presentation was done by TTOC marketing and business development team members Chanelle Young and Rheeza Grant. All reports and feedback can be best described as very positive and well received.

In respect of Good Governance. The TTOC is on target to have a good governance code/commitment include in the TTOC Constitution at this year's AGM.

On the TTOC calendar of events are a Rio 2016 Team Send off and a Post Rio 2016 Appreciation Event for Team TTO Olympians.
