The Logo
This element is tailor-made for the Trinbago 2023 CYG edition and symbolises digital innovation (the
use of a thumbprint to communicate via phone, computer or tablet) and individuality (each human
thumbprint is special and unique).
The thumbprint itself, on closer inspection, comprises people coming together to participate in sport
from all over the Commonwealth.
The abbreviation Trinbago has been used rather than Trinidad and Tobago, to promote the
connectivity of the two islands as one country. It is young and fresh and also appears in the national
colours.
Trinidad and Tobago is a unique twin-island state encompassing the diversity of our
culture and the vibrancy, creativity and strength of a young population.
These characteristsics are reflected in the colours used in the thumbprint: blue: representing the
water and sky; red/orange: portraying the vibrancy of the youth; green: signifying growth; brown:
depicting fertility; and yellow: oozing warmth and friendliness.
